My Heritage
This digital art piece explores the essence of my heritage, born from a desire to celebrate the beauty of our cultural roots in a modern context. Inspired by Hunminjeongeum—the original Korean alphabet created by King Sejong the Great—it reflects my first language and the cultural landscape that shaped my identity. By blending tradition with a digital medium, I hope to present what I carry with pride through a contemporary lens.
Digital textures of Hanji (traditional paper) and mother-of-pearl evoke Korea's timeless aesthetic. The characters are arranged right to left and top to bottom, honoring the historical layout of classical Hangeul, set against a luminous moonlike backdrop.
Cranes, pine trees, Hanok, and stylized clouds—patterns reminiscent of traditional Korean folk art—rest against majestic mountains, capturing nostalgia and serenity while narrating my emotional and cultural heritage.
